Utilized for those who have frozen eggs from an egg freezing cycle or from a donor egg bank, and are ready to use them. Eggs are safely thawed and fertilized with sperm (either known or donor) to create embryos. This is either followed by a fresh or frozen embryo transfer and/or embryo freezing.
Ottawa patients are required to travel to Toronto for fertilization of eggs (if using fresh sperm) and embryo transfer until the IVF lab is open.

For same-sex female and/or transgender male partners where one partner carries the pregnancy and the other provides eggs. The egg provider undergoes IVF to create embryos using their eggs and donor sperm, and then an embryo is transferred into the uterus of the partner who will carry the pregnancy.

Sperm freezing, or sperm cryopreservation, is the process of collecting, freezing and storing sperm. The sperm can be thawed and used in the future for procedures such as intrauterine insemination (IUI) or in vitro fertilization (IVF).
Ottawa patients are required to travel to Toronto for sperm collection and cryopreservation until the IVF lab is open.

Funding covers many core medical services, but not every cost. Before starting a funded cycle it is important to understand what to budget for, and they will vary depending on your treatment plan.

Pollin patients can apply for support through The Modern Miracle Foundation IVF grant program for up to $10,000 towards your treatment cost.

The Ontario Fertility Tax Credit and the Federal Medical Expense Tax Credit are available to you to help reduce the cost of eligible fertility care.
Currently you are able to complete all of your consultations, testing and cycle monitoring locally in Ottawa. Egg retrieval, sperm collection (if applicable), embryo transfer(s) and cryostorage must occur at Pollin Toronto until the Ottawa IVF lab opens.
Private IVF at Pollin starts from $14,600 per cycle. Medications are additional and vary by protocol. Frozen embryo transfer, annual storage after the first year, reciprocal IVF donor and medication costs, and extra testing such as PGT are also separate fees.

For eligible Ontario residents, fertility specialist consultations, second opinions, baseline hormone bloodwork, diagnostic ultrasound, sonohysterogram, semen analysis, and cycle monitoring are covered by OHIP. AMH, DFI, medications, and many treatment or add-on costs are not covered.
Pollin’s private IVF cycle price includes retrieval, fertilization, embryo culture, EmbryoScope, CHLOE™ assessment, and first-year storage. A single FRESH embryo transfer is included if it is determined as the best option for you by your physician. Medication, frozen embryo transfer, genetic testing, and storage after year one are separate costs.
Egg freezing at Pollin starts at $8,550 per cycle. Medications are additional and vary by protocol. Annual storage after the first year and the VIOLET™ AI egg quality report are also separate fees.

Yes. Your consultation and treatment plan are used to clarify which services are covered, which fees apply to your recommended pathway, and which funding or financing options may be available.
Pollin Ottawa will not have access to Ontario Fertility Program (OFP) funding until the Ministry of Health opens up new funding.
Eligible Pollin Ottawa patients are able to access funded IVF cycles via Pollin Toronto, but will need to complete Egg Retrievals and Embryo Transfers at the Toronto location. All other funded cycle appointments, such as consultations, testing, cycle monitoring blood draws and ultrasounds can be completed at Pollin Ottawa.
Pollin Ottawa will apply for OFP funding as soon as we are able to do so. All Ottawa patients will be notified when funding becomes available.

Not exactly, and it’s important to know the additional costs that are not covered by the Ontario Fertility Program before starting your cycle.
The OFP covers all consultations, basic testing, cycle monitoring, egg retrieval and the transfers of all resulting embryos. Fertility medications, optional add-on testing and advanced lab procedures are not covered.
