Pollin Ottawa is opening in 2 phases. Please review the following timeline to understand how this may impact your fertility care timeline.
Ottawa patients will be able to complete the following at Pollin Ottawa:

✓ Diagnostic Testing (blood tests, ultrasounds and semen analysis)
✓ Cycle Monitoring
✓ Low intervention fertility treatments (fresh sperm only)
Travel required to Pollin Toronto for the following services until the Pollin Ottawa IVF lab opens:
✓ Egg retrievals, embryo fertilization
✓ Embryo transfers
✓ Egg, sperm and embryo freezing
✓ IUIs with frozen sperm
✓ On-site cryostorage
Our state-of-the-art Embryology lab will be fully operational to provide the following on-site services:
✓ Egg retrievals
✓ Embryo transfers
✓ Egg, Sperm and Embryo freezing
✓ IUIs with frozen sperm
✓ On-site cryostorage
Ottawa patients may access funded IVF through Pollin Toronto if eligible, but retrievals and embryo transfers must occur in Toronto while funding is tied to the Toronto lab.
Pollin Ottawa will hopefully be considered for expanded funding in 2027.
Ottawa patients can start locally with consultations, diagnostics, follow-up appointments, and cycle monitoring, while certain treatment procedures will require travel to Toronto until the Ottawa lab opens.

Travel to Toronto for egg retrieval, embryo transfer until the Pollin Ottawa lab opens in late fall 2026. Pollin will ship any eggs, embryos or sperm created at and in cryostorage at Pollin Toronto to Pollin Ottawa, free of charge when the lab opens.

Pollin Fertility Ottawa is located at 303 Moodie Dr., Suite 100 in Bells Corners, serving Ottawa, Gatineau, Nepean, Kanata, Barrhaven, and Eastern Ontario.
Yes, you do need a referral to see a fertility specialist in Ontario, however Pollin can facilitate one for you through an OHIP-covered, virtual appointment with our partner GP if you do not have your own GP.
You can book an initial consultation directly through our website without a referral and a member of our care team will contact you before your appointment date to get you set up with one.
Ottawa patients will be able to complete the following at Pollin Ottawa:

If embryology or sperm freezing services are required between now and the lab opening (late fall 2026), travel to Pollin Toronto will be required for specialized embryology procedures included in the following treatment plans:
● Egg Retrievals for IVF and Egg Freezing
● Embryo Transfer
● Sperm Freezing / Donor Sperm Insemination with frozen sperm
Depending on the treatment, patients can expect 1-2 visits to Pollin Toronto over the course of a cycle with all other appointments taking place at Pollin Ottawa.Alternatively, patients can choose to wait until the Ottawa lab is open for the above services. Once the Pollin Ottawa lab opens in late fall 2026, you will no longer be required to travel. Every part of your treatment plan will happen at Pollin Ottawa.
You will be able to stay with your Toronto-based care team on a virtual basis, or choose to travel to Toronto as much as you like for in-person visits. You will also have the option to transfer your care to one of our Ottawa clinic physicians.
If you would like to transfer your care from a Pollin Toronto physician to a Pollin Ottawa physician, please use the “Contact Us” feature in your app to request this.
Pollin will arrange for the safe shipment of any frozen eggs, sperm or embryos created from a cycle performed at Pollin Toronto, to Pollin Ottawa free of charge. You will also have the option to leave them where they are and travel to Pollin Toronto when you are ready to use them.
Frozen embryos as a result of a Funded IVF Cycle: Frozen embryos as a result of a funded cycle must remain at Pollin Toronto as funding is tied to the Toronto lab. All embryo transfers under a funded cycle must occur at Pollin Toronto to be included in your funding coverage.
Pollin Ottawa will not have access to Ontario Fertility Program (OFP) funding until the Ministry of Health opens up new funding.
Eligible Pollin Ottawa patients are able to access funded IVF cycles via Pollin Toronto, but will need to complete Egg Retrievals and Embryo Transfers at the Toronto location. All other funded cycle appointments, such as consultations, testing, cycle monitoring blood draws and ultrasounds can be completed at Pollin Ottawa.
Pollin Ottawa will apply for OFP funding as soon as we are able to do so. All Ottawa patients will be notified when funding becomes available.
You will now be able to complete all of your testing, sperm analysis, cycle monitoring—blood draws and ultrasounds—locally at Pollin Ottawa. You will still be required to travel to Pollin Toronto to have your egg retrieval and embryo transfer(s), as funding is tied to the Pollin Toronto lab.
Pollin Fertility Ottawa is located in Bells Corners, serving Ottawa, Gatineau, Nepean, Kanata, Barrhaven, and Eastern Ontario. The clinic offers free parking and is accessible by O-Train and bus, with the Moodie/Fitzgerald bus stop about a 3-minute walk away.
