Inclusions and Out-of-pocket Exclusions
If you’re considering government-funded IVF, it’s important to understand what is included in the Ontario Fertility Program (OFP) and what is not.
The OFP covers the core medical, laboratory, and procedural components of one IVF cycle. Certain services and expenses are not included and are paid privately. Many of these out-of-pocket costs may be eligible for the Ontario Fertility Tax Credit, which allows patients to claim a portion of qualifying fertility-related expenses.
For patients with private insurance, we recommend checking with your insurance provider, as many benefit plans now include partial coverage for fertility medications, testing, or related services.
