Discharge Instructions: OHSS Drainage

01. Rest and Recovery
- Allow yourself adequate time to rest at home following the drainage procedure.
- Avoid strenuous physical activities for at least the first 48 hours post-procedure.
02. Medication
- Take any prescribed medications as directed by your primary care team.
- Continue any medications previously prescribed for OHSS management.
03. Hydration
- Maintain good hydration by drinking plenty of fluids.
- Report any signs of dehydration, such as dizziness or dark urine, to your healthcare provider.
04. Monitoring
- Keep track of your weight daily and report any sudden weight gain to your healthcareprovider.
- Monitor for symptoms of OHSS recurrence, such as abdominal pain, nausea, ordifficulty breathing.
05. Activity Restrictions
- Avoid heavy lifting or strenuous activities for at least one week.
- Gradually resume normal activities based on your comfort level.
06. Dietary Recommendations
- Follow the OHSS high salt diet guide provided by your care team.
- Maintain a balanced diet to support recovery.
07. Pain Management
- Take prescribed pain medications as needed.
- Use heating pads or warm compresses on the abdominal area for comfort.
08. Follow-up Appointments
- Your team will monitor you closely, with ultrasound monitoring and daily check-ins post-procedure.
- Please book a follow-up in 3-4 weeks.
- Discuss any concerns or changes in your condition during these visits.
09. Signs of Complications
- Be vigilant for signs of infection, such as increased redness, swelling, or discharge from the drainage site.
- Seek immediate medical attention if you experience severe abdominal pain, shortness of breath, or any other unusual symptoms.
