If your physician has ordered this medication as part of your treatment plan, here is more information for you.
Clomiphene Citrate is also known as Clomid. Clomid is used to induce ovulation in women who have ovulatory disorders or hyper stimulate the ovary for treatment of infertility. It blocks estrogen thus making your body work harder to make more eggs.
Clomid will be dispensed to you in a bottle and comes in 50 mg tablets and is taken orally.
Depending on your prescribed dose, you typically will be given a 5 day course. Please take about the same time each day, with or without food.
This will be started in the early part of your cycle. The cycle monitoring nurses will ensure to advise you when to start. You will be monitored closely through blood and ultrasound while taking this medication.
